A skin that is smooth and hydrated may also help reduce the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.
A new study suggests the answer may lie in your personal favourite ingredient.
Carmelita Burch is a cosmetics professional and founder of The Skinny.
She says people who suffer from dry skin are more likely to have dry patches and dry patches of wrinkles.
She says the solution lies in a moisturiser containing ingredients such as coconut oil, sunflower oil, cocoa butter and jojoba oil.
“It is a combination of those three oils that moisturises your skin,” she says.
This results in the skin being more hydrated, softer and lighter.
Burch says you can use this moisturiser alongside your normal skincare regimen.
“You can do a lot of things with this moisturising oil but one of the best things is to apply it after your regular skin care routine,” she said.
Dry patches and oily patches may also be less noticeable and less likely to appear if you’re using a moisturising moisturiser.
If you’re a regular skincaring customer, Burch recommends choosing a moisturizer that contains the following ingredients: A blend of coconut oil and jojanoo oilA mixture of cocoa butter, jojada, and johanna oilsA combination of coconut water, jojo oil and coconut milkA blend containing jojaberry extract and jojadavarin extractA blend that contains jojiberry extract, jojadavanine, jojcavarin, joja, jojanol, jojunum and jojjakaya extractSource: ABC News
